PRIVATE 3-DAY TOUR FROM MARRAKECH TO MERZOUGA DESERT AND FES

DAY 1 : MARRAKECH - AIT BEN HADDOU - ATLAS MOUNTAINS - OUARZAZATE - DADES VALLEY:

Our desert vacation begins in Marrakech and continues to Ouarzazate through the Tizi n' Tichka pass (2260m) - across the High Atlas Mountains, admiring the magnificence of the terrain on the winding roads through Berber towns. We'll stop for lunch at the famed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, Morocco's biggest Kasbah, now a UNESCO world heritage site and home to numerous Glaoui family members, before continuing to Dades Gorge through Ouarzazate, "the Hollywood of Africa," via the "Road of the Thousand Kasbahs." We'll stop at Kalaat Mgouna, known as "the rose's city," for flowers and its yearly festival during the rose harvest in May, before continuing to our hotel in the middle of the Dades Gorge.

DAY 2 : DADES VALLEY - TODRA GORGES - MERZOUGA (ERG CHEBBI DUNES)

After breakfast at the hotel, we'll travel back down the valley to view "the monkey toes" and the still-standing 19th century Kasbah of Ait Yul. As you leave the Dades valley and head towards Tinrghir and the Todra valley, you'll get panoramic views of the valley's historic mud Berber settlements. Arriving at the Gorge allows you to stroll beneath the 300m high red cliff, where many rock climbers come to enjoy their favorite activity. We proceed to Erfoud and Rissani, where we will visit a small souk before heading to a hotel in the Merzouga desert, where your camel will be waiting for you. You will be greeted with a drink of mint tea and a turban - desert scarf before mounting your camel and exploring the enigmatic Erg-Chebbi sand-sea with an expert Camel Guide. You'll spend the night here beneath the stars, or in a genuine Berber nomad tent if you like.

DAY 3 : MERZOUGA - ZIZ VALLEY - IFRANE - FES:

Your camel guide will take you early in the morning to see the most beautiful sunrise you've ever seen. After that, you'll calmly camel-trek back to your Riad, taking in the beautiful Erg Chebbi dunes, which change with the light as the day continues. We'll travel to Fes via Errachidia, through the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, and through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt, stopping in Zaida to enjoy a barbecue and refresh with a glass of mint tea before continuing to Azrou, a Berber village in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we'll stop to see the Barbarian apes in the cedar forest. Then it's on to Ifrane, "the French town," where you may pause for a photo or a drink before arriving at your hotel in Fes, where the tour concludes.
